			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Tired from reading those old boring textbooks? Struggling with reading hundreds lines of text to understand a simple concept?  or paying so much? We understand your pain!</p>
<p>Apple released the iBook 2 platform few weeks ago and we take this development seriously. Our approach will revolutionize learning oral radiology as the new textbook will fully utilize the capabilities of the iPad to deliver stunning high resolution colorful images and illustrations, full motion videos and animations, 3D interactive objects, <acronym title="HyperText Markup Language">HTML</acronym> 5 elements, audio, and interactive quizzes.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements for Contributors:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Dental Hygiene / Dental Background. Preference will be given to individuals with radiology training.</li>
<li>Enthusiastic and able to work in collaborative settings.</li>
<li>Own radiographic cases that  can be used in the book.</li>
<li>A native English speaker or have excellent English skills.</li>
<li>Capable of authoring a chapter in 3 months time frame.</li>
</ul>
<p>Invitation is not yet opened for vendors. <p>The apps were designed with the iPad in mind. All the images used are large resolution and in high quality. This is true for the iCBCT Anatomy and the iPanoramic apps.</p>

<p>Actually, you will have a better user experience running the apps on the iPad compared with the iPhone due to the larger screen size. <p>Panoramic radiographs provide a general overview for the patient’s teeth, bone, and jaws. A panoramic radiograph is usually used to detect and assess impacted 3rd molars, pathology, or in patients who are partially or fully edentulous. <span id="more-3782"></span></p>

<p>Understanding normal anatomical structures is a key component for a successful diagnosis and treatment planning.</p>

<p>The app provides dental students and general practitioners with a high quality panoramic radiograph acquired by a PLANMECA digital panoramic machine to illustrate different anatomical structures found in the maxilla, mandible, soft tissue, airway spaces, and ghosts as seen on a panoramic radiograph.</p>

As we&#8217;re approaching the end of the semester, finally I have more time to dedicate to do some exciting new things in Cone Beam <acronym title="Computed Tomography">CT</acronym> education. Well, we&#8217;re considering doing our second iPhone app which will be a simple yet pictures rich booklet that covers CBCT basics. The booklet will cover basics principles of action of Cone Beam <acronym title="Computed Tomography">CT</acronym>,  image quality factors, uses of CBCT, and the app will include different Cone Beam <acronym title="Computed Tomography">CT</acronym> machines that are available on the market.</p>

<p>We&#8217;re asking the vendors for their help with that. <p>iCBCT Anatomy will let you learn different anatomical structures depicted on Cone Beam <acronym title="Computed Tomography">CT</acronym> slices in different orthogonal views (Axial, Coronal, and Sagittal). The slices are labeled on one half and colors were applied to differentiate different anatomical structures on the other half resembling an anatomy atlas. It is also a nice tool for patient education and communication.</p>

<p>New Feature: Zoom! You can now use two finger pinch to zoom-in/zoom-out in all of the slices. This will make it easier to view the anatomical structures and read the labels. Click Fit button to restore the view to its original zoom level.</p>

<p>iCBCT Anatomy is the first CBCT app to hit the App Store. The app can run on your iPhone and iPod Touch. Get the app either by  typing its name or by searching the app store on your iPhone or iPod Touch for  keywords like: Cone Beam <acronym title="Computed Tomography">CT</acronym> or CBCT. You can also get the app by downloading it from <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/app/icbct-anatomy/id339440378?mt=8" rel="nofollow"  target="_blank">the link here</a>. After the app is downloaded, plug your iPhone or iPod Touch to your computer and iTunes will install it for you. Enjoy learning anatomy landmarks on CBCT while you are on the go.</p>
